Welcome to Iron Rock Farm, a family-run farm located in Bay Minette, Alabama. Founded by Noel and Amy Garrett in 2019, our farm is rooted in a deep love for animals and a commitment to quality genetics with a strong emphasis on temperament. Noel was raised in rural northeast Oklahoma where he grew up learning about cattle ranching from his grandfather, Virgil. Virgil ran a modest herd of commercial beef cattle until his passing in 1991. The work ethic and knowledge Noel gained from this experience helped inspire us to start a farm of our own.  Amy, lived all over the US but spent the majority of her formidable years in Tampa, Fl. as a city girl. With a strong love of animals, and a can-do attitude the farm life was a natural fit.

Iron Rock Farm spans approximately fifty acres of rolling hills filled with beautiful Bahia grass pastures, featuring a stunning three-acre spring-fed pond and clusters of wooded areas that provide shade and forage for our livestock. The land is rich with beautiful iron rock, which inspired the name of our farm.

When we purchased our property in June 2019, it was empty, having been unused for cattle for over twenty years. With the help of our son-in-law, we cleared two decades of dense vegetation to reveal the breathtaking pond. We laid the foundation for our home that September and built it ourselves! We moved in seven months later, just after our first grandchild was born and the pandemic was hitting.

On Memorial Day 2020, we began constructing our 30x40 Mini Barn, welcomed our first livestock, chickens in August. We worked to fence off pastures in October. Then, in December we brought home mini horses and mini donkeys and also acquired our first two Belted Galloways in January 2021.

We started our journey with just 14 chickens, and today, Iron Rock Farm is home to our Belted Galloway cattle, several Quarter Horses, a Tennessee Walker,

two Belgian Drafts, a Percheron Draft, a couple of Mini Horses, a set of Mini Jennys, a flock of varied chickens and roosters, and three beloved family dogs. Our farm is truly a multigenerational operation, with our children, grandson, and even the grandparents pitching in. We’re proud to work the land as a family and share the joy of farm life with the next generation.
